WELCOME
Hello! It's lovely to see you here. A bit about me... I founded Jac and Hugo when the last of my kids went off to school. The name Jac and Hugo came as I sat with my coffee searching for a domain name. All my catchy cool names were taken and looking down at our family dog Hugo, thought well why not? It's him and me on this new venture after all! Sadly Hugo, after a full dog life, has departed and Murphy the Groodle is doing an excellent job in the position of general layabout.
The process of designing and making jewellery, I absolutely love. Each unique piece I make by hand in my beautiful studio in Sydney's CBD nestled among the buzzing restaurants and shopping streets of a vibrant city but not too far from the sand and sea of Sydney's beaches. I'm inspired by design that's all around, created by nature or man made. I love vibrant colour combinations, sensory graphic design, statement interiors, and brilliant architecture.
With a good eye for design and what's trending, I understand what people are about to be looking for because I am looking for it. I want my jewellery to be of the highest quality and only work in precious metals, (not vermeil, not plated, not gold fill,) to create valuable heirloom pieces that will last lifetimes.
Making each piece to order minimises waste caused by over production and I hope to inspire a move away from mass produced jewellery, toward considered pieces created with purpose. Pieces you absolutely fall in love with and become part of your life story.
Using traditional jewellery making methods of metal forming, saw piercing and lost wax casting I then finish each piece individually. My bigger team include a master stone setter and experts in casting. You'll discover that Jac and Hugo jewellery has a delicious organic feel that comes from being worked by hand.
I'm lucky enough to live and work in beautiful Sydney on the traditional lands of the Gadigal people of Eora nation. I recognise their continuing connection to this land, the water and culture and respect the Indigenous elders of this wonderful country.
I hope you love what you find here as much as I love creating each piece and that your purchase will be treasured by your family and friends for generations.
Jac x
