WELCOME
Welcome to Jac & Hugo
I’ve long believed that noticing beauty makes everyday life a little richer. It might be the way morning light falls across a room, the breeze through a curtain, sun glinting on water, an unexpected combination of colours—or an object so pleasing you know you would find joy in living with it every day.
Jewellery has that power too.
Jewellery to live your life in
From the beginning, I was drawn to making jewellery with presence. Smooth, generous forms. Rings with satisfying weight. Pieces that feel wonderful in the hand and reassuring on the body.
I believe jewellery should become part of a woman’s life, not simply part of her wardrobe. The ring you instinctively put on before leaving the house. The one you glimpse standing on the bus on your morning commute, your hands on the steering wheel with the kids in the back, sitting around the table with family, or presenting to a new client.
Eventually, you barely think about putting it on. You notice when it isn’t there.
These are the pieces I want to make: jewellery that quietly gives joy, confidence and reassurance, and over time becomes unmistakably yours.
Made with intention
Each Jac & Hugo piece begins here in my Sydney studio and is made using traditional jewellery-making techniques, including metal forming, saw piercing and lost-wax casting.
I work with skilled casting specialists and master stone setters where their expertise is required, before each piece is individually finished and considered.
I work in precious metals and gemstones chosen for their beauty, integrity and longevity.
There is something particularly important to me about generosity in jewellery—generous weight, thoughtful proportions and comfort against the body. I want a ring to feel as beautiful as it looks.
And I want the hand of the maker to remain present.
You’ll find softened forms, subtle irregularities and an organic quality in Jac & Hugo jewellery. These aren't things I want to polish away. They are part of the character of an object that has been designed, worked and finished by human hands.
A world beyond jewellery
My inspiration rarely begins with jewellery.
I find it in interiors, architecture, art, furniture, ceramics, graphic design, nature, travel and colour.
I’m fascinated by the bold materiality and warmth of 1970s design—the furniture of Scandinavia, richly glazed ceramics, timber, glass, strong colour and objects made with both usefulness and beauty in mind.
I might be equally inspired by the colour of olive trees against a summer sky, a Venetian street lamp, a beautifully designed chair, or light casting an unexpected shadow across a bedroom wall.
I think all of these things eventually find their way into the work.
Because for me, jewellery is part of a much larger idea: that living with things we find beautiful—and taking the time to notice beauty when we encounter it—can bring joy to ordinary days.
Made to become yours
Jac & Hugo jewellery is made to be lived in.
I want you to fall in love with a piece slowly or immediately. To choose it because something about it feels like you.
To wear it often.
To scratch it.
Travel with it.
Swim in it.
Celebrate in it.
Live your life in it.
And perhaps, many years from now, pass it to someone else who will know something about you simply because you chose it.
That, to me, is when jewellery becomes more than an object.
It becomes a companion.
Welcome to Jac & Hugo.
I hope you find something here that feels unmistakably yours.
